A Fine Art Photographer is an artist who uses the medium of photography as her creative means of expression. The goal is to express an idea, meaning or a feeling to the viewer. Fine Art Photography brings a vision to life and creates something that comes from the artist’s interior that she would like to share with others.
'You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at a picture for a second and think of it all your life.' - Joan Miró.
My PhotoArt is rooted in nature and how colour, light and shadow play with our emotions. I want people to see, perhaps for the first time, a close-up world invisible at a simple first glance. To reveal the beauty in smaller things. How the image of a simple flower can take our breath away.
In most of my PhotoArt flower pìeces spontaneity is the key. To be outside, in the countryside, to photograph the moment, the split-second that nature offers. Then I work on my computer to highlight and shape the image. My intention is not to create highly exaggerated pictures or artificially manipulate my subjects with programs like Photoshop. I want what I saw in that original spontaneous moment to be clear to the viewer. To show the sudden beauty of something we do not notice in the speed of daily life.
I am a former primary school teacher and my favourite subjects to teach were biology and visual arts. I live near Aarhus, the city where I was born.
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” - Edgar Degas.
Mit projekt PhotoArt er trykt direkte på aluminiumsplade.
Dette betyder, at kunstværkerne er holdbare og robuste.
Deres matte overflade skaber smukke billeder uden reflekser.
De er også meget lette at montere på enhver væg.
De fleste af mine billeder måler 40 x 60 cm.
