Dette værk er inspireret af eventyret ’Den Lille Prins’ (Le Petit Prince), som først og fremmest handler om omsorg for de nære ting. Det forunderlige eventyr handler om en pilot der nødlander med sit fly i Sahara-ørkenen, hvor han møder en lille dreng/ung mand som han omtaler som ’Den Lille Prins’. Den lille prins fortæller om sit liv, herunder sit liv på sin hjemplanet, hvor han fik tiden til at gå med at rense planetens små vulkaner og holde jorden fri for baobabtræer. Historien beretter om den lille prins’ dannelsesrejse rundt i universet, hvor han lærer om kærligheden, livet og døden. Men først og fremmest handler bogen om omsorg for de nære ting. Historien er skrevet af den franske forfatter Antoine de Saint-Exupérys, i 1943. Historien er så populær, at bogen er oversat til omkring 300 forskellige sprog og dialekter og allerede i 1950 udkom den på dansk.
